The place to start is gaining an understanding. The design of these tools is all about learning and building proficiency within your organization. Since many companies are at different stages of sustainability the tools are designed with multiple entry points. Where you start depends on your organization’s sophistication on the subject. At the most basic level, it is recommended that your organization study the guidelines. Share the relevant guideline (e.g, Materials, Packaging, etc.) with the appropriate personnel in your company. Take note of how many items on the list you can confidently say that you are already doing for your products or operations, how many you can begin to accomplish fairly soon, and how many are going to take some extra effort to do. Then make a plan.
